Along with the
culinary instruction that takes place
on the
grounds
of La Villa Bonita, our students also
enjoy a wide range of culinary and
cultural field trips included in the
week-long package. Click
here for our new virtual tours.
Culinary
field trips include guided tours of the
Mercado to
chat with the local residents
and learn how to select the
best Mexican fruits, spices,
vegetables, and meats. Become
a member of the village --
take your maize to the local
mill to make masa, visit the
local breadmaker for bread
fresh from the wood-fired oven,
purchase the most delicious
strawberries at the local famers
market, and then take a hike
up the Tepozteco pyramid.
At
La Villa Bonita you have an
opportunity with Chef Ana to
become apart of the daily life
of our village. Our students
also take guided field trips
to Cuernavaca, Tlayacapan
(the pottery village) or
Taxco
(the silver artistans village) to
experience daily life firsthand
an enjoy local delicacies.
At La Villa Bonita you enter
the culture of Mexico through
the vehicle of food.
Also
included in your package are cultural
tours. Depending on the package you choose
you may visit the ruins of Xochicalco
as well as take in the sites of Cuernavaca
like the first cathedral in the Americas
or the Brady Museum.
