El Palacio de Cortez The Palace of Cortez
El Palacio de Cortes, located three blocks from La Villa Bonita, was constructed by the famous explorer in
1535 during his conquest of Mexico. The palace was constructed over a ceremonial center for the Tlahuica Indians. It now houses the Region Museum of Cuahnahuac which includes exhibitions on the
historical development of the State of Morelos from prehispanic times up to the Mexican Revolution. El Palacio also includes an incredible mural about the Spanish conquest of Mexico by artist Diego
Rivera. |
